Hi, I'm Dr. Meagan Darby. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences from Morehead State University in 2016, followed by my DVM from Auburn University in 2020. During vet school, I gained valuable experience as a veterinary nurse at Sheabel Animal Hospital, where I learned hands-on skills in patient care. I joined Hebron Animal Hospital right after graduation in 2020 and have been dedicated to serving pets and their families here ever since.

Why I Chose this Profession

My career path has always been driven by my love for science, animals, and the joy of helping owners care for their pets. Veterinary medicine gives me the opportunity to combine these passions every day, making a positive impact on the lives of animals and the people who love them.

Favorite Part of My Job

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is meeting new people and building bonds with pets and their families. I’m a firm believer in the importance of trust and connection in delivering the best care possible, which is a big reason that I am a Fear Free certified veterinarian.

Within veterinary medicine, I am particularly drawn to internal medicine and wound management, as they allow me to dig deep into challenging cases and find solutions that help pets heal and thrive.

Personal Hobbies & Interests

Outside of the veterinary clinic, I enjoy spending time training my dogs and exploring hiking trails around the southeast. I also enjoy spending time on the farm with my horse, Stanley.
